Google has just announced that it has raised $20 million from two venture capitalists and raised another $15 million in seed funding.
The funding rounds were led by Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz.
Both companies have been major early investors in Google’s moonshot initiative, the Project Loon, which aims to beam internet access to the world by the end of 2020.
Google’s Loon project aims to use balloons to beam Internet to the planet from high-altitude balloons in the stratosphere.
It is aiming to deliver internet to every household in the world within 30 years.
The Loon’s balloon launch, dubbed Project Loom, has raised nearly $3.5 billion in venture capital since its announcement in October 2015.
The project was later renamed Project Lander.
